dyke is an ongoing collaborative making and presentation project that queers landscapes through the practice of dry stone walling. Rooted in the dual cultural resonance of the word dyke - meaning a dry stone wall in Scots and a reclaimed queer slur - the project considers labour, resilience, and belonging within Welsh and Scottish ecologies through performance, traditional skill-sharing, and community-building.
By queering ecological, linguistic, and social boundaries, dyke reframes drystone walls as sites of care, regeneration, and connection rather than division.
Supported by Arts Council Wales Create funding, this project is being developed throughout 2026 ahead of exhibition in 2027.
